And it seems upone me fate has smiled

For today, I am getting my heart's desire.

So I sing, my voice soaring higher."

Espritia sings in an alto voice:

"I've studied and practiced, working so hard

Learned from Masters to be a good Bard

So now that my wish has come true,

I stand here to sing for you."

Espritia sings in an alto voice:

"Majesty, I offer you a serenade

Not much for money, my song is my trade.

      It may not be gold,

but it's the best I have to give

For music is how I live."

Espritia takes a deep breath, closing her eyes as she draws deep, rich notes from her violin.

Espritia sings in an alto voice:

"I've traveled and fought to sing here today

Brawled with trolls, and slew other prey.

Struggled with words to get the song right

Tangled with chords to make the tune bright."

Espritia tenderly draws the bow against the strings of the violin.

Espritia sings in an alto voice:

"Now tis my job to make the Prince smile

Amuse and entertain him in full Bardic style

And perhaps, if he is pleased with my song

He'll allow me to sing again before long."

Espritia grins hopefully at Vorclaf.

Espritia sings in an alto voice:

"Majesty, I offer you a serenade

Not much for money, my song is my trade.

      It may not be gold,

For music is how I live."

Espritia plays a bridge into a new melody line: fast, fierce and furious.

Espritia sings in an alto voice:

    "Warrior forged in flames

      Tempered in water

His battle cry rings through the air

      Feet pounding the earth

      to vanquish his enemies."

Espritia plays a fierce battle song on her violin, intermixed with sorrowful lines.

Espritia inhales deeply, preparing to sing in full voice.

Espritia firmly sings in an alto voice:

    "The warrior's heart will pound

      And his soul will burn

      His sword will sing

      And his foes will turn!"

Espritia brings the melody to a frantic pitch, as if a battle is turning.

Espritia plays a fierce tune on her violin, fingers dancing over the strings, until the battle played out in the music ends on a ringing triumphant note.

[back to Set List]

Tavern Trouper Chabelle just arrived.

Chabelle says, "This song is called "The Prince's Dilemma". by Chabelle D'Jhue."

Chabelle smiles mischievously as she places her violin under her chin. Pulling the bow across the strings, a playful tune emits over the area.

Chabelle playfully sings in a soprano voice:

"The Jester out of boldness said

To the Prince, "A kiss, if you please."

In turn, he reddened with the tease

And simply said, "Off with your head!""

(Chabelle ducks her head slightly as she continues with her playful ballad.)

Chabelle guardedly sings in a soprano voice:

"The guards kept watch to keep the right

     Honor held and crowd's delight.

The fool lay weeping in the night,

     The royal heart shut tight."

Chabelle excitedly sings in a soprano voice:

"They waited 'til the Sun had rays

     Shone on the shackled clown,

And all the subjects of the town

     Gathered for this day's arrays."

Chabelle smiles playfully as she pauses for a moment to wave her bow over the crowd.

Chabelle sternly sings in a soprano voice:

    "His majesty was holding court.

His love for folly did not report.

Around him, in a crystal fort,

     Sat Jurisprudence and Consort."

(Chabelle nods to Jurisprudence and Consort, standing by the wings of the stage. You could almost swear you hear a growling coming from them as they listen to the song.)

Chabelle harshly sings in a soprano voice:

    "How dare this lowly knave!

The Prince could never love such lowness!

And out of ignorance and slowness,

     Unknowingly the crowd behaved."

Chabelle mischievously sings in a soprano voice:

    "Then, finally, to Protest's groan,

And for grand love he must atone,

The Prince abdicated from the throne

And Jester took her secret lover home."

Chabelle smiles mischeviously as the last note fades away. She turns and gives Prince Vorclaf a little wink before exiting off the stage lest she get caught by his guards.

Xaphira clears her throat.

Xaphira recites:

"I've been asked to write a song in honor of the Prince.  Your Royal Highness, I hope you enjoy it...and take it in the spirit in which it is intended."

Xaphira winks.

Xaphira starts playing a slow rhythm on her castanets, humming a soft melody.

Xaphira mischievously sings in a soprano voice:

"What would I want with a Prince?

What would entice me to this?

To be dressed up and taken out

And bowed to when I'm about?

What would I want with a Prince?"

Xaphira motions towards Prince Vorclaf's seat.

Xaphira playfully sings in a soprano voice:

"Why would I want to be his?

     Why each sweet advance resist?

Why be doted on and fussed about

And quite the lady while here in town?

Why would I want to be his?"

Xaphira smiles oh-so-innocently.

Xaphira mischievously sings in a soprano voice:

"Why would I need this here Prince?

How can I so firmly insist?

Who needs finery and plats around

        And--"

Xaphira exclaims, "A horsie!"

Xaphira gazes dreamily off for a moment, then blushes, suddenly remembering where she is, and continues with a whispered "Apologies, your Highness..."

Xaphira emphatically sings in a soprano voice:

"...Who needs finery and plats around

        And o'erflowing vaults about?

Oh, why would I need this here Prince?"

Xaphira smiles and changes the tempo, swaying her hips with the rhythm, and adding a sly glance at the Prince.

Xaphira coyly sings in a soprano voice:

"And why should I care for a Prince?

What could a girl see in him?"

Xaphira gazes over the Prince with a playful smile and an appreciative look.

Xaphira closes her eyes and makes a sound of contentment that resembles purring in the back of her throat.

Xaphira blushes, seeming to just now remember the audience present.

Xaphira sheepishly says, "Erm...nevermind that..."

Xaphira playfully sings in a soprano voice:

"Oh, why should I care for...

        Why would I need this...

           Ohhh, what

             Would I want

               With a Prince!"

Ravenstorme smiles at Zazu.

Xanzie curtsies.

[back to Set List]

Zazu the Narrator approaches the front of the stage.  The scene is set of a darkened antechamber near the King's daybed. Curtains are draped against the cold stone to make the room look homely and royal. It also offers extra privacy against the echoing walls of the Hallway.

Zazu recites:

"I'd like to welcome you to our little skit for the opening ceremonies of Glythide's Faire.  We are taking a comic look at the day in the life of a noble King.  Come join us as the play unfolds.  I believe the actors are ready to begin."

Markhor adjusts his crown.

Zazu the Narrator nods to Dareth, the King's guard who is stationed at the door of the King's bedchamber. Many a fellow has attenpted to bother the King while he is in his chambers and therefore, no one shall pass.

(Markhor lies down behind the curtains so his feet are showing.)

Markhor lies down.

Zazu smiles at you as she tilts her head to listen to the shadows.  You hear a loud snoring from behind the curtains as the King rests peacfully.

You hear someone snoring.

(Ravenstorme the page comes running down the hallway with a soldier quickly in tow.)

Zazu the soldier attempts to calm down the frantic page.

Zazu says, "What has been done so far? Where are the troops? "

Zazu gazes at Ravenstorme.

Zazu snaps to attention and hails Dareth with a crisp hand salute.

Zazu comes out of her daydream to remember she is a Soldier of Zoluren.

Zazu nervously says, "Sir, we are massing at the gate. The archers are on the walls. The cauldrons have been set to boil. The Murder holes have been armed. "

Zazu snaps to attention and hails Dareth with a crisp hand salute.

Dareth snaps to attention and hails Zazu with a crisp hand salute.

Dareth calmly says, "This is a good start, soldier."

Zazu loudly exclaims, "The king must be told!"

Zazu nods to Dareth.

Zazu wrings her hands nervously.

Dareth matter-of-factly says, "The king is sleeping and has instructed no disruption."

Dareth matter-of-factly says, "The men know what to do. The setup is good. Keep me informed."

Zazu firmly exclaims, "Sir, yes, sir!"

(Dareth exhales slowly while shaking his head at the page)

Dareth sighs.

Dareth seems to be waiting for something.

(Ravenstorme the page walks up the hallway to the guard.)

Ravenstorme coughs.

Ravenstorme excitedly says, "Sir, the people are getting angry.  Seems the Army has taken off with the food supply and has left them with very little to feed themselves."

Dareth raises an eyebrow.

Ravenstorme excitedly says, "They are calling for the king to make a statement to say when they will get new food supplies in."

Dareth sighs.

Dareth firmly says, "I have been ordered no visitors to the king."

Ravenstorme nods.

Dareth patiently says, "Find a bored noble. Lord Crumbum would do, he's a humanitarian. Have him look into it."

Ravenstorme nods.

Ravenstorme snaps to attention and hails Dareth with a crisp hand salute.

Dareth snaps to attention and hails Ravenstorme with a crisp hand salute.

Dareth seems to be waiting for something.

(Ravenstorme the page returns again on the footheels of a stormy young woman of strange character.)

You hear someone snoring.

Daedra harshly says, "This is outragous. I am of royal blood. I can trace my lineage back to the sister of Queen Lleliellen after the Cataclysm that created the world! I will not be cast off by some page boy. I demand my due respect. "

Dareth rolls his eyes.

Ravenstorme shrugs.

Dareth calmly says, "M'Lady, the King is not available. And if I remember correctly, Queen Lliliellen's sister mated with a troll and therefore was cast out of the family lineage by order of the Queen."

Dareth calmly says, "You are a palace guard just like me and I am your superior and you will stand down and go back to your position."

Daedra emphatically exclaims, "But!"

Dareth sternly says, "and for god's sake, soldier, put some armor on. We were attacked not an annon ago and here you are prancing around like some school girl."

Daedra happily says, "But I'm off duty for the party! "

Dareth firmly says, "Please keep your voice down, for your head is at stake."

(Dareth the guard glances over his shoulder.)

You hear someone snoring.

Dareth quietly asks, "Then if you must go to the party, but keep your eye open for mischief. I charge you with this, guard. Do you understand?"

Daedra nods to Dareth.

Daedra snaps to attention and hails Dareth with a crisp hand salute.

Dareth says, "dae"

Dareth snaps to attention and hails Daedra with a crisp hand salute.

(Ravenstorme the page shrugs as he watches the lady guard walk away.)

Dareth chuckles.

Dareth guardedly asks, "Anything else happening?"

Ravenstorme excitedly says, "Sir, yes sir. The royals are gathering in the hall awaitting the party.  Lord Crumbum has officiated the distribution of food to the masses.  Mister Davenport has requested leave "

Ravenstorme inhales a great swallow of air.

Ravenstorme excitedly says, "to visit his aunt in the south.  I gave him leave and left a note with the tax assessor to check the land while he was out to get an accurate assessment of the property since he"

Ravenstorme inhales a great swallow of air.

Ravenstorme excitedly says, "wont let the taxers near his house.  The guard is on clean up duty at the gate, taking out garbage so to speak, the invaders have fallen back and are no longer in sight."

Ravenstorme pants.

Dareth confidently says, "The King thanks you page."

Ravenstorme snaps to attention and hails Dareth with a crisp hand salute.

Dareth snaps to attention and hails Ravenstorme with a crisp hand salute.

(Ravenstorme the page exits the room again .)

Dareth seems to be waiting for something.

Dareth shifts his weight.

(Ravenstorme the page scampers into the room! )

Ravenstorme pants.

Ravenstorme excitedly says, "Sir, the cook is demanding to see the king.  The Royals are taking over the kitchen to see what's goin on with the food for the party.  Lord Crumbum's gaurds are trying to take the stocks "

Ravenstorme excitedly exclaims, "to the gates for the people and the cook is threatening to quit!  Without his food we wont be able to have the party for the king's celebration!"

Ravenstorme flails his arms about.

Dareth emphatically asks, "The cook is being threatening?"

Ravenstorme firmly says, "Yes sir! "

Dareth emphatically says, "Fire him then. The King doesn't have to put up with that."

Ravenstorme nervously asks, "What about the food for the party Sir?"

Dareth ponders.

Dareth calmly says, "Go to the Migul's Catering shop and pick up some picnic baskets. We'll call it a picnic with the King. The guest's will love it."

Ravenstorme's face lights up with joy.

Ravenstorme's face lights up with joy.

(Ravenstorme the page leaves the guard alone again. )

You hear someone snoring.

Dareth seems to be waiting for something.

Dareth sighs.

(Ravenstorme the page walks in escorting two dancers. )

Xanzie the dancer hops into the room.

Espritia the dancer hops in the room.

Ravenstorme coyly says, "Sir, they'd like to know when the King is expected to arrive at the party.  They'ld like to perform for him and give him their blessing for joy in the future."

Xanzie does a backflip!

Espritia does a backflip!

Espritia's alto joins with Xanzie's mezzo-soprano as she sings:

"We'd like to offer to you

Our blessings for your future joy

     And happiness to you

Dareth matter-of-factly says, "The royals were looking for an audience, you set up appointments for them all and took care of the little things, unfortunately you missed the party."

Markhor says matter-of-factly, "Oh, well, I DO like to keep good people around me, none of those slough offs."

Dareth firmly says, "Aye sire"

Markhor matter-of-factly asks, "Hire me a new cook and get me a sandwich from the party.  There are still leftovers, right?"

Dareth firmly says, "Aye sire"

Markhor cheerfully says, "Good.  Be gone, then.  I've had a busy day and I'd like to eat in my chambers and be alone after such a rigorous day."

Markhor rubs his hands together.

Daedra recites:

"Now here's a man who needs no introductions, but he likes to hear us talk about him so he's making us do it anyways.   Here he is folks, everyone's favorite bumblin' drunken idiot, that chronic bedwetter, the Duke of Debauchery, the Earl of Insobriety!  And that's just what his mother calls him.  Jeremy Galen Isembard Esquire and his songs from the village idiot!  Let's give it up for the "

Isembard gets a wren-engraved mandolin from inside his suede haversack.

Isembard moves a wren-engraved mandolin to his left hand.

[back to Set List]

Isembard says, "This one I call "What's in a Name?".  I wrote it to help explain why folks call me "Gale"."

Isembard happily sings in a tenor voice:

"I'm aimin' to clear up this confusion, I wanna set things straight,

Cuz' up 'til now the most oft-ask'd question I get of late

Is why do they call yer Gale? Who's that guy I don't see him in the room?

Well Gale is the name me friends use for me, yet I answer to Isembard too."

Isembard happily sings in a tenor voice:

"Most folks say: "Hey Isembard!" Well ya see Isembard's me family name,

We all have titles, we all have honorifics, and fer me its jus da same.

Some folks have nicknames, others an alias, A.K.A if'n ye hearin' me say,

Whate'er 'tis, whate'er 't does, as long as it keeps the loan collector away!"

Isembard winks.

Xanzie's mezzo-soprano joins with Isembard's tenor as he sings:

"Glad ta Meetcha! How do ya do?! Well met friend! Do I know you?

I'm Jeremy Galen Isembard! Isembard Isimbard if you'd rather...

What's in a Name? Helps me shift the blame,

When the loan shark's man comes a lookin' fer me to maim!"

(Isembard saunters about the stage, shuffling about like some kind of kid on his first night away from his folks!)

Isembard happily sings in a tenor voice:

"Some of my friends, and others too persist, they ask me, others insist,

Yer to big fer yer britches with that big name like a list!

Well be that as it may, That is my name if I do say,

Me Mum and me Da both gave it to me on my birthday."

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"Once when walking down a long hall of mirrors all hung,

Where decisions are made before any songs were sung...

I entered my name on the slate and what...was it taken by fate?

     Suddenly I couldn't be me?....Oh Great!"

(Isembard pauses and gasps dramatically!)

(Isembard sucks on his pinky finger like a dufus!)

Isembard says, "Yeah...like, whatevah."

(Isembard gestures dismissively at the thought.)

Isembard confidently exclaims, "I'll Keep my name forever!"

Isembard chortles softly at some secret joke.

Xanzie's mezzo-soprano joins with Isembard's tenor as he sings:

"Glad ta Meetcha! How do ya do?! Well met friend! Do I know you?

I'm Jeremy Galen Isembard! Isembard Isimbard if you'd rather...

What's in a Moniker? You'll wanna be sure,

To duck out when the tax man's come in the door."

(Isembard skips about the stage like whimsical school-girl!)

Isembard snickers.

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"So that's me story of how I got this handle, less I should dismantle,

Some day I'll hope not to have this nametag. Until that day I'll hold a candle.

I'll jus' keep 'splainin': I'm not who you think I'm just Galen!

I'll answer to either, but me friends call me Gale and do so without failin'"

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"But just keep in mind, that a fake name can sure help ya,

On down through history, Mages, Sorcerers n' Spies all will tell ya,

Seems like the worst sorts will hide their true name....

     Worst sorts did I say?"

Isembard covers his mouth with his hand.

Isembard shrugs.

Isembard teasingly says, "well maybe, but I'll A.K.A just the same...."

Isembard excitedly sings in a tenor voice:

    "I'll A.K.A just the same!"

Xanzie's mezzo-soprano joins with Isembard's tenor as he sings:

"Glad ta Meetcha! How do ya do?! Well met friend! Do I know you?

I'm Jeremy Galen Isembard! Isembard Isimbard if you'd rather...

What's in a Nomme de Plume? Not much I assume,

But useful when the ex-wife's in the room!"

Isembard glances about with concern on his face.

Isembard smiles as he bows to his new friends, and ducks a bit of rotten cabbage from his new enemies.

Isembard grins.

Isembard bows.

Isembard says, "Thanks y'all."

[back to Set List]

Isembard says, "Now that yer know why folks be callin' me Gale,..."

Isembard teasingly asks, "What do you call it when the sun goes down on a sleepy little town called Isembard?"

Isembard seems to be waiting for something.

Isembard grins.

Isembard teasingly says, "Night-in-Gale."

Isembard chortles softly at some secret joke.

Isembard says, "I think you'll like this next'n"

Isembard says, "I writ it especially for this here shindig."

Isembard wryly says, "This is a tale 'bout how some of the time you find the nicest things right under yer nose."

Isembard exhales roughly through his mustache, causing it to flutter briefly before he reaches up and smooths it back down.

Isembard says, "I put this ditty together whilst I was in the lockup down south as you'll see from what's ter follow."

Isembard grins.

Isembard listens carefully to the wren-engraved mandolin, plucking the strings.

Isembard recites:

    ""The Ferdahl's Garden"."

Isembard holds his mandolin by its neck, beginning a quick series of cascading notes.

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"Wasn't that long ago, just this past summer...no 'twas early autumn,

Thought just occurred ter get outta me guild, to get up off me bottom."

Isembard blushingly indicates his flabby posterior.

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"Make me way down th' road, clear on down that ol' trade route,

Just a'goin' where da wind blows, a'wandrin' towards the south,"

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"Through mountain passes and fields full o' grasses,

And on into a walled city, thought I'd sing for the masses."

Isembard turns a bit on the stage to face you, the light glinting off the face of his mandolin for a moment.

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"Folks there were dressed up summat strange, bizarre patterns brightly swirl'd,

Rainbow'd dyes mighty colourful, says I: "What in da world?"

Sandal-wearin' folk, with hair down to their toes,

A'foragin for weeds in ditches, and where'er they may grow."

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"I stopped a chap right there in the street, he a round spectacle-wearin' type,

He peered at me from over his specs, as I asked him "Wot's da hype?"

He lower'd his smoked lenses and held me in his curious gaze,

His eyes were red and glassy, and here's wot he says:"

Xanzie's mezzo-soprano joins with Isembard's tenor as he sings:

"Folks may tell ya this and its no lie they're startin',

Ilithi's perfect clime 'tis great fer a greenthumb's talents ter sharpen!

There's some mighty fine foragin' along the ditches in Shard'n,

Nothing's quite so splendid as the weeds from the Ferdahl's garden!"

Isembard grins as his mandolin flashes with the light and hum of excitement in the air.

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"Well he griningly offered me this Princely Pipe,

Stuff'd all full o' weeds from da Ferdahl's garden.

I took me a draw of it all dubious-like,

TA~DA~ all my cares were forgotten!"

Isembard gets a prince pipe from inside his suede haversack.

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"There's somethin' to this foragin' I found out,

And now could tell what all this here fashion's about,

Colors were a'swirlin' in front o' me eyes oddly,

And I could see there was no need fer puttin' on facades, nay."

Isembard rubs a prince pipe.

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"I then sang "Nonny! Nonny! Ain't life bright n' jolly!"

     "Hey Derry!...Ho Diddle!...Dee Dee!

These weeds are delicious and leave me quite breathless,

I think I'll trade 'em outside Ilithi!"

Isembard gets a thoughtful expression on his face.

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

    "Then I foraged n' gather'd all the long day though I'd rather'd,

Spent my time lazily on some barstool all hammer'd,

Still, try as I might not to, I still toked away,

And have done so ever since that fateful day,

     Singin'...."

Isembard droolingly stuffs some wild weed into the bowl of his Prince Pipe.

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

    "And with yaks all bundle-laden,

     I headed for Shard's East Gate n'

Thought to peddle me weeds up north.

When out stepped an armor'd guard,

     Blockin' me from leaving Shard,

Sayin' I could nay sally forth!"

Isembard scratches his head.

Isembard slowly sings in a tenor voice:

"He starts yellin' at me, in his rainbow'd chain finery,

"That's contraband on yer yak!" and yull refrain kindly!

Stuffed me up in a cell, took all me fluff, well,

All 'cept me trusty pipe which he missed, should I tell?

Nay! So away I did puff, then did I feel well!

     Singin...."

Isembard gazes at his pipe.

Isembard cups his Prince Pipe in the palm of his hand as he strums away on his mandolin.

Isembard smiles crookedly.

Isembard regretfully sings in a tenor voice:

"I did me jail term, got out in th' spring,

Me beard was long n'scruffy, I'd lost my earring.

I was amazed as all about me the weeds did still grow!

And wot occured to me then amazed me moreso."

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"I looked at all them fellers foragin' in the garden,

One a th' mates handed me some clothes says: "beggin' yer pardon?"

"But you might want somethun ta be wearin' its still rather nippy...,

Once dressed I caught my reflection, realizin' I wuz a hippy!"

Isembard smirks.

Isembard wobbles, looking a bit faint.

Nothings quite so splendid as the weeds from the Ferdahl's garden!"

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"So that's my story of how I was enlighten'd then jail'd,

And fortunate I wuz that I had friends who came up with me bail.

For whilst 'tis great to partake of weeds kinda funny,

The sentence if'n yer caught be not less den four n' twenny!"

Isembard smiles then winces suddenly as a string breaks on his tortured mandolin.

Nothings quite so splendid as the weeds from the Ferdahl's garden!"

Isembard says, "sorry 'bout that one y'all...but I've got my wild-weed-support-group sessions regular-like now, so they say I'll be on the up-swing any day now..."

Isembard chortles softly at some secret joke.

Isembard bows.

[back to Set List]

Isembard says, "I call this "The Tragical Sonnet of the Maid and the Janitor.""

Isembard smiles.

Isembard recites:

"This is the tragical, but true, sonnet of a young maid that worked for a roof over her head, (and a very little coin), in the Manor of a certain Lord and Lady whose name we shall omit for her safety."

Isembard recites:

"This tale relates how this young maid loved a man we all despise, known only to us as:..."The Janitor"."

Isembard gasps!

Isembard recites:

"This tale relates how their great affair was cut tragically short. "

Isembard recites:

"How these two did meet? I've never learned...

But I'll relay to you now how their courtship did met its end. "

Isembard recites:

"I wish it were not so, but not all tales have a happy ending, and this one is no exception."

Isembard moves to the center of the stage where a pinpoint of light centers on him as he begins to sing in a quiet voice.

Isembard quietly sings in a tenor voice:

    "From this stage,

     I hear laughter...

     Merrymaking,

     And champagne glasses.""

Isembard puts his pipe in his suede haversack.

Isembard cups his hand to his ear and bends to his left, listening...

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

    "But not far away,

     Just out of earshot,

     Someone is crying.

     She's scrubbing troll skins,

     While's he's sweeping kitchens.

     It'll be a long night,

     For young lovers.""

Isembard observes Xanzie who is suddenly revealed near him on the stage by a sliver of light that's just appeared.

Isembard's tenor joins with Xanzie's mezzo-soprano as she sings:

"Each night she'd yearn to spy him out her drawing room portico."

Xanzie's mezzo-soprano joins with Isembard's tenor as he sings:

"Every night he'd steal away to visit as the moons would appear.""

Xanzie's mezzo-soprano joins with Isembard's tenor as he sings:

"But it's quite late when he'd done with his sweeping..."

Isembard's tenor joins with Xanzie's mezzo-soprano as she sings:

"And the Lady of her manor's always early sleeping.."

Xanzie moves forward on the stage singing in a strained voice as the light around her swells.

Xanzie sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

    "A maiden's heart that's never been broken,

Hold's so much trust and will dare any trial.

He'd once given her a kerchief as a token,

She'd kept it with her all the while."

Xanzie sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Doubt it not when you hear they've planned a meeting,

They'd steal away upon the dark of nightfall.

A secret rendezvous to assuage their heart's yearnings.

A peaceful time they'd love to recall."

Xanzie turns to watch Gale as he approaches her to share the growing light on the stage as their voices join  in chorus.

Xanzie's mezzo-soprano joins with Isembard's tenor as he sings:

"Every night he'd dreamed of this as he'd pushed his broomstick..."

Isembard's tenor joins with Xanzie's mezzo-soprano as she sings:

"And every night she's stolen thoughts of him outside..."

Isembard's tenor joins with Xanzie's mezzo-soprano as she sings:

"Were it not for her hope of this clandestined meeting..."

Xanzie's mezzo-soprano joins with Isembard's tenor as he sings:

"Well surely then they'd both had rather to have died..."

Xanzie begins to weep softly.

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"Some of you know it's a road,

     From Riverhaven to Crossing,

Many've trodden this upon their own."

Isembard darkly sings in a tenor voice:

"But for a young and naive maiden,

In her fine housecoats and silken dressing,

Draws undue attention from the worst kind."

Isembard sadly sings in a tenor voice:

"And so it was she asked directions,

From the wrong highwayman upon her course.

He was also fond of a fair lady's affections,

And took her off with him upon his horse!"

Isembard gazes sadly at Xanzie.

Xanzie painfully sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"But upon the spot of trouble,

     She'd left her kerchief.

Upon the road, amidst the rubble,

So he'd know that they're been mischief"

Isembard's tenor joins with Xanzie's mezzo-soprano as she sings:

"At the scene she'd left her token..."

Xanzie's mezzo-soprano joins with Isembard's tenor as he sings:

"He'd see the sign and though heartbroken,"

Xanzie's mezzo-soprano joins with Isembard's tenor as he sings:

"He'd find the way to his Maiden's side."

Isembard's tenor joins with Xanzie's mezzo-soprano as she sings:

    "And once again they'd re-unite."

Isembard sadly sings in a tenor voice:

"Or would have done if not for thing,

I fear the timing of roomsweeps are set,

So that there's not too much time passing,

For any one room to clutter yet."

Isembard sadly sings in a tenor voice:

"So it was the Janitor came down from Haven,

But did not find his bride-to-be,...

He did not find the kerchief he had gaven,

Cruelly he was foiled by another janitor just like he.""

Isembard smiles crookedly.

Xanzie snickers.

Isembard indicates Xanzie with a warm smile as she bows.

Xanzie bows.

Isembard bows.

The janitor just arrived.

Isembard exclaims, "Xanzie Nikatime y'all!"

The janitor waves to Isembard.

Isembard grins.

The janitor waves.

Isembard smiles at the janitor.

Isembard waves.

Isembard chortles softly at some secret joke.

The janitor sweeps up around the area.

Xanzie grins.

Isembard says, "I've just one more for y'all, then I'm outta here."

The janitor gets your favorite item out of his backpack.

The janitor asks, "You missing this?"

Isembard says, "Not yet"

Isembard says, "now I am."

The janitor grins.

The janitor waves.

The janitor just went through some double doors of polished teak trimmed in gold.

Xanzie clears her throat.

Xanzie glances at some double doors of polished teak trimmed in gold.

[back to Set List]

Isembard recites:

"This song I call "My Therengian Fancy", or "an Ode to the Road"."

Isembard hefts his care-worn mandolin and begins to pluck out the bouncy opening notes of a jaunty sonnet.

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

    "By-ways lead to secluded groves,

     And fields careful-tended with spades.

Roadways all cross rivers and streams,

And mounts crown'd all in haze.

I to these will always go,

     Upon yon northern route.

I'll come upon not a single soul,

     That I'd not sing about."

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

    "A Walker I, upon Life's Road.

     I'll wander this tangl'd course.

A Sailor upon the Seas of Fate,

     And protector of sacred lore.

There's no burden to this wanderlust,

     Nothing I am searching for.

Yet dally now not here with me,

     Use caution evermore..."

Xanzie's mezzo-soprano joins with Isembard's tenor as he sings:

"As ye walk upon these sallow'd fields,

All cloak'd in lucid fresh and snow...

Dally now not near me love,

For now I've got to go."

Isembard strums up the tune on his poor mandolin, pulling on the strings fiercely to bring about a rapid change in the time signature.

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

"The course of life is o'erwrought,

With sharp bends, turns and folds.

Though to most it seems that which is sought,

     Great riches, jewels, wealth untold!

If you'd ask me all this means naught,

     These vaults o'erflowin' with gold.

What price to put on liberty bought?

     What coin for freedom sold?"

Xanzie's mezzo-soprano joins with Isembard's tenor as he sings:

"As ye stroll the darkened glades of green,

     All mantl'd in bowers sweet...

     Dally now not o'erlong,

For me? I'll take my leave!"

Isembard strums down the melody down to a quiet rhythm as he leans forward and sings quietly.

Isembard studies the faces around him.

Isembard quietly sings in a tenor voice:

"I'll name to thee a price beyond all measure,

Beyond all finery and works of art.

With her my dalliance it was a pleasure,

For her key unlock'd my heart,

     Though forbidden by divinely censure,

     I fear we're destin'd to be apart.

Alas! I'll not here abide at leisure,

Alack! From here i'll soon depart!"

Isembard strums up the melody on his battered mandolin once more to resume the jaunty pace of the ballad.

Xanzie's mezzo-soprano joins with Isembard's tenor as he sings:

"I'll be a'wander these backwood ways,

All armor'd 'n dew and mist...

Dally not will I till the last of my days,

     The road I can't resist!"

Isembard sings in a tenor voice:

    "A Player I, on life's grand stage,

I'll be at the last curtain call.

A battle too, it seems we wage,

To take arms and not to fall.

There's no burden to this wanderlust,

     Nothing I am searching for,

Yet dally now not here my love,

There's much more yet in store!"

Isembard smiles as he glances up at you from his mandolin, bowing forward as the echoing refrain fades.

Isembard beams!

Isembard says, "Thanks agin' ya'll"

Xanzie beams at Isembard!

Isembard puts his mandolin in his suede haversack.

Inscribed in our hearts and that place up above."

Blujae sings in a soprano voice:

"Seemingly fragile....your thorns do you bear

For beasts who'd attack you without any care

They'd  find  a sting...a pain that might bleed

Though gentle your beauty, you'd defend if in need."

Blujae sings in a soprano voice:

Who would be first to learn some Target"

Anguilla smiles.

Anguilla cheerfully sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"A race, then!  'Tween her and me!

I was ecstatic, brimming with glee!"

Anguilla beams!

Anguilla excitedly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Which of us would first get to ten?

And, should one win, what then?"

Anguilla nervously sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"What was at risk?  What was at stake?

If one should lose, what would it take?"

Anguilla frets.

Anguilla darkly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"A song to the winner, by the poor soul

Who did not keep pace when reaching the goal!"

Anguilla glances about with a blank look on her face.

Anguilla nervously sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Though I'd a head start (by a point and a half)

She was better by far when it came to a class"

    "I feared she'd o'ertake me, give me a pass

Even out-learn this fitful young lass"

Anguilla shivers with fear.

Anguilla hopelessly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Unable to practice, I hit the books

Hung out with Mages, put up with their looks

       (And their familiars!)"

Anguilla meekly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"I was learning so slowly!  How could this be?

"For two days straight I studied real hard

     This scared little lavender-clad Bard"

Had I done it?  Had I won, pulled ahead?"

Anguilla smiles.

Anguilla cheerfully sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"I did it!  I broke the mark, I hit ten!

I called around for Tahatia then"

Anguilla gets an impish expression on her face, and lets out a hearty cheer.

Anguilla patiently sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"It took me two days to find my competitor

"Did you get to ten?" I calmly then asked her"

Anguilla smiles.

Anguilla sheepishly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

""No I did not," she said on the spot

"To tell you the truth, I just plain forgot!""

Anguilla weakly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"To hear this from her, my heart it felt fried

I'd studied my butt off, and she hadn't tried?"

Anguilla blinks.

Anguilla matter-of-factly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"The moral of this tale, if you care to listen:

Don't make a bet you don't want to win"

Anguilla smugly sings in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"But the truth, you can't deny, is terribly strong..."

(Anguilla grins mischievously...)

Anguilla recites:

"Tahatia, you owe me one song!"

Chabelle says, "Ah, much better."

Chabelle smiles softly as the crowd settles down. She carefully withdraws her violin and bow from her satchel and looks out towards the audience.

Chabelle smiles happily as the torches flicker across the stage, brightening the entire area.

Chabelle asks, "Have you ever thought about the beggar who lives in this town?"

Chabelle angles her ears forward in curiosity.

Chabelle says, "Now I have to admit, that at first I thought it quite strange that a town such as Crossings would have its own beggar. Why would anyone want to be a beggar when there is so much out there that a person can do. "

Chabelle shrugs.

Chabelle says, "The more I thought about it, the more it started making sense. And now I'll tell you....."

Chabelle smiles softly.

Chabelle sings in a soprano voice:

"Of all the guilds in Elanthia,

     A-beggin' is the best

     For when a beggar's tired,

You can lay him down to rest."

Chabelle sings in a soprano voice:

    "And a-begging we will go,

     A-begging we will go-o-o."

Chabelle sings in a soprano voice:

    "I've a poke for me ma'le

     And another for me rye

I've a bottle by me side,

To drink when I am dry."

Chabelle sings in a soprano voice:

"I got patches on me cloak,

And black patch on me knee.

When you come to take me home,

I'll drink as well as thee."

Chabelle nods.

Chabelle sings in a soprano voice:

    "And a-begging we will go,

     A-begging we will go-o-o."

Chabelle sings in a soprano voice:

"I got a pocket for me salt

     And another for me malt

I got a pair of little crutches,

You should see how I can halt."

Chabelle sings in a soprano voice:

"I sleep beneath an open tree,

And there I pay no rent.

     Crossings provides for me,

     And I am well content."

Chabelle sings in a soprano voice:

    "And a-begging we will go,

     A-begging we will go-o-o."

Chabelle sings in a soprano voice:

"I fear no plots against me.

     I live an open cell.

Who would be a prince then

When beggars live so well. "

Chabelle sings in a soprano voice:

"Of all the guilds in Elanthia,

     A-begging is the best.

     For when a beggar's tired,

You can lay him down to rest."

Chabelle sings in a soprano voice:

    "And a-begging we will go,

     A-begging we will go-o-o."

Chabelle sings in a soprano voice:

"Of all the guilds in Elanthia,

     A-begging is the best.

     For when a beggar's tired,

You can lay him down to rest.

And here is where I rest."

Chabelle smiles brightly as she wraps a tattered blanket around her and gives a little curtsy, then boldly holds out a cup.

[back to Set List]

Chabelle smiles softly as she lets the audience quieten down.

Chabelle says, "Thank you. The words to my last song this day were written by a friend. After hearing the beautiful poem, I decided to bring the words to music."

Chabelle says, "I present to you, "If I only knew.""

Chabelle smiles softly as she glances around the room. She lays her head upon her violin and gently pulls the bow across, creating a soft melody to float around the room.

Chabelle slowly sings in a soprano voice:

"If I knew it would be the last time

That I'd see you fall asleep,

I would tuck you in more tightly

And pray the gods, your soul to keep."

Chabelle slowly sings in a soprano voice:

"If I knew it would be the last time

That I see you walk out the door,

I would give you a hug and kiss

And call you back for one more."

Chabelle slowly sings in a soprano voice:

"If I knew it would be the last time

I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,

I would memorize each action and word,

So I could remember them for all my days."

Chabelle slowly sings in a soprano voice:

"If I knew it would be the last time,

I could spare an extra andu

To stop and say "I love you,"

Instead of assuming you would know I do."

Chabelle slowly sings in a soprano voice:

"If I knew it would be the last time

I would be there to share your day,

Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,

So I can let just this one slip away."

Chabelle slowly sings in a soprano voice:

    "For surely there's always tomorrow

To make up for an oversight,

And we always get a second chance

     To make everything just right."

Chabelle hesitantly asks, "Don't we?"

Chabelle slowly sings in a soprano voice:

"There will always be another day to say "I love you,"

And certainly there's another chance to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong, and today is all I get,

I'd like to say how much I love you and I hope we never forget."

Chabelle smiles softly as she plays a slow ballad on her violin, her bow arching high above her head.

Chabelle recites:

"Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,

     Young or old alike,

And today may be the last chance

You get to hold your loved one tight."

Chabelle recites:

"So if you're waiting for tomorrow,

     Why not do it today?

     For if tomorrow never comes,

     You'll surely regret the day,"

Chabelle recites:

"That you didn't take that extra time

For a smile, a hug, or a kiss

And you were too busy to grant someone,

What turned out to be their one last wish."

Chabelle recites:

"So hold your loved ones close today,

     And whisper in their ear,

Tell them how much you love them

And that you'll always hold them dear"

Chabelle recites:

"Take time to say "I'm sorry,"

"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."

     And if tomorrow never comes,

You'll have no regrets about today."

Chabelle smiles softly as she continues her slow ballad on her violin, her bow arching high above her head.

Instead of assuming you would know I do.

     If I knew....

     If only I knew."

Chabelle smiles softly and bows her head in remembrance as the last note fades away and the torches dim almost to nothing.

Tavern Trouper Chabelle went through some double doors of polished teak trimmed in gold.

Mistress of Ceremony Zazu's group just arrived.

(Zazu grins as she spins onto the stage.)

Dareth laughs at Zazu.

Zazu says, "Dareth, I have good news and bad news."

Dareth says, "your going to make yourself dizzy"

Zazu gazes at Dareth.

Dareth winces.

Zazu giggles at Dareth.

Dareth asks, "whats the good news?"

Zazu exclaims, "good news is, I found my songbook!"

Zazu smiles as the Apostles go wild.

Zazu gets an impish expression on her face, and lets out a hearty cheer.

Dareth beams at Zazu!

Dareth asks, "you did?"

Zazu nods to Dareth.

Dareth asks, "where was it?"

Zazu says, "I left it sitting next to Ishimmer in the back row"

Zazu's ears droop dejectedly as a look of melancholy crosses her face.

Dareth laughs!

Dareth says, "well thats a good place for it"

Zazu exclaims, "more good news!"

Zazu grins at Dareth.

Zazu exclaims, "Kortny is about!"

Dareth says, "oh I like good news"

Dareth asks, "about where?"

Zazu points at some double doors of polished teak trimmed in gold.

Dareth casually observes the area.

Zazu perks her ears up in delight.

Dareth asks, "ok so whats the bad news?"

Dareth peers quizzically at Zazu.

Zazu slowly empties her lungs.

Dareth rubs Zazu gently.

Zazu says, "well, the schedule is a lil, um, skew"

Dareth winces.

Zazu says, "so we are shuffling folks around"

Zazu smiles weakly at the audience.

Dareth shakes his head.

Dareth says, "well thats to be expected"

Dareth nods to Zazu.

Zazu says, "so, I'm gonna let you introduce the next performer, while I go backstage and get things together"

Dareth shivers.

Dareth says, "well ok"

Dareth smiles at Zazu.

Zazu says, "We'll sing for the the request before Kortny goes on"

(Zazu smiles brightly at you and spins off stage.)

Dareth chuckles.

Mistress of Ceremony Zazu's group went through some double doors of polished teak trimmed in gold.

Master of Ceremony Dareth just arrived.

(Dareth walks out onto the stage blinding the entire area as the torches gaze off of his gleaming silver-white plate. He blushes and smiles at you as he puts out a couple of the torches. It takes a moment for your vision to return but at least you can see.)

Dareth recites:

"Oh that was excellant Chabelle, she has some of the best songs in the land, give her a big round of applause. "

Dareth applauds.

Dareth recites:

"This evening is just going to get better as it goes on. Up next is the charming young Lilymae Lancoeskmar, she is a member of the Order of the White Rose, doing a speech about the great Lanival."

Dareth smiles and wave motioning to Lilymae. As he exits off the stage he relights the darken torches.

Master of Ceremony Dareth went through some double doors of polished teak trimmed in gold.

[back to Set List]

Elementress Lilymae just arrived.

Lilymae smiles.

Lilymae says, "Im going to be telling the tale of the great leader Lanival.  He might have been born Elven, but he was a Human by heart who believed in the ways of my order, The Order of the White Rose, and defended those he loved and those beliefs with his life.  So sit back and relax...I hope you enjoy"

Lilymae smiles softly at you as she takes a deep breath.

Lilymae recites:

"This is a tale of a man we all know

A brave warrior against all his foe

Lanival, the Redeemer was his name

And here is how he came to fame..."

Lilymae recites:

"Born Elven and into the Kanton Clan

He was known to be an annoying and lazy man

Deciding finally to make his own way

Lanival wandered from the clan, to become a war mage."

Lilymae recites:

"Lanival was a thin and intense young man

Dark haired, bright eyed and a charming grace

He spent hundreds of years roaming as a vagabond

Flitting around from place to place."

Lilymae recites:

"Finally drifing to the Spine of the Dragon

Using his magics and hunting the game

He was struck by a blizzard and wandered alone

Desperate and delusional from all his pain."

Lilymae recites:

"He came across a cave and made himself a fire

And there he fell into a fevered sleep

Over his shoulder, eyes glistening bright

A dragon, Glacis, watched over his new keep."

Lilymae recites:

"Changing his form from dragon to human

Glacis cared for and tended the man

And awakening after many a day

Talked to and taught his ways to Lan.."

Lilymae recites:

"Meanwhile, as Lanival wandered the realms

His greatest foe was building his force.

Teiro, angry of the Elven leadership decline,

Humiliated at the defeat to humans, he made his new course."

Lilymae recites:

"His wife a great and powerful Elf,

Their daughter Nissa, a healer in many ways.

He was once a good and kind man

But had twisted, becoming more evil day after day."

Lilymae recites:

"Raising some of the 'old-guards' he knew,

He began to form his army of Elves.

The council objected, his daughter as well

So he killed most and quieted his daughter saying...or else."

Lilymae recites:

"And that is when this Elven Lord

      Began to exact his revenge.

On the Humans who he so scorned,

For stealing the glory of the Ilithi nation."

Lilymae recites:

    "During this time, Lanival returned.

Reuniting the clans like Akroeg before

And with them began his campaign

Against the chaos and the Elven Lord."

Lilymae recites:

"The war lasting a dozen years,

The first five the best, the last two the worst.

      Lanival's dream finally cam true

and on the day of the victory over Teiro he heard these words "

Lilymae recites:

"Lord Teiro we are coming... No matter what the cost

Lord Teiro can you hear us?

The voice of those who were lost? Our sisters, and our brothers, our children and our wives

      Our husbands and our families

      Are screaming for your life

You can walk with a thousand regrets, but the people do not forget."

Lilymae recites:

"The Battle between the two forces

Was met below the Mountains made of Spine

The final battle very well matched,

Both sides fighting, both sides dying."

Lilymae recites:

"Lanival was sick of the war

Yet Teiro couldnae get his fill,

Casting a spell of power from Ages afore

Destroying most Teiro laughed at all of the foe he did kill."

Lilymae recites:

"Hope was bleak, Lord Teiro was truly mad!

Lanival knew that the time had come.

To fight a battle of utter hopelessness,

or to surrender, but never run."

Lilymae recites:

"What Lanival did then would put his name,

Down into the books for all eternity.

Wandering away from the camp he heard a noise,

And turning around, was his old friend Glacis he did see."

Lilymae recites:

"Glacis spoke of the war and the deadly spell,

Saying it invites attention Teiro did nae want.

And turning around Lanival saw before him,

a very large glistening gold eye of a dragon."

Lilymae recites:

"Turning to face his friend Glacis, he did see,

Not a Human but a Dragon in his place

Glacis spoke of Guardians and of peace,

Said that the Dragons shall come help him find his way."

Lilymae recites:

"Not one to look  a gift dragon in the mouth,

He agreed to the help from his friend.

      Leaping atop of Glacis back,

They few back to the army, rallying them once again."

Lilymae recites:

    "The war turned that night,

From hopeless loss to a staggering win

The dragons staying till Teiro's spell was gone,

Striking terror into the hears of all the men."

Lilymae recites:

"With the end of the war Lanival devided up the lands,

And leaving a note he went on his way.

      Leaving Crossing and heading south,

Never once expecting that lurking assasins await."

Lilymae recites:

"As legend goes he nearly made it to Glacis' house,

when with knives bared jumped out Elven women and men,

After the fight, five assasins lay dead, Lanival almost the same

He found the strength and dragged himself to the dragon's home again."

Lilymae recites:

"Calling out faintly to his old friend,

Glacis knew of only one way

A dragon's healing it would take not weeks, but decades.

Making sure this is what Lanival wanted, he then slept him for thousands of days "

Lilymae recites:

"Whether he ever woke or not is to this day unknown.

Some believe he sleeps still, some say he wanders still to this day,

There are some who believe that he has passed on,

Or that he sleeps till the Realms need him again."

Lilymae recites:

    "Whether someday, Lanival may return,

      Remains yet to be clear.

And now my friends, you now know,

The tale of Lanival, the Redeemer."

Lilymae smiles at you as she curtsies to you and leaves the stage quietly.

Kortny says, "Ok now I would like to continue with another song."

Kortny says, "Most of you have heard of the Great war with the Gorbesh we had, this is a song that was written as it happend and about Wren and her adventures."

Kortny says, "I will now sing "Wren and the Red Winter War" by Kortny Horselord"

Kortny sings in a baritone voice:

"A swirl of destiny does flow

     Amid the rumours of war

In this torrid soil a plot does grow

And gives rise to the prophecies of lore."

Kortny slowly sings in a baritone voice:

    "A Chalice, a Bard, and a Lute

All intertwined with blood and tears

In this mixture an evil plan bears fruit

As reality gives birth to our deepest fears"

Kortny sadly sings in a baritone voice:

"A battle springs across the lands

Warriors rally to the horns call

The enemy comes with bloodstained hands

And clash against the city's walls."

Kortny hopelessly sings in a baritone voice:

"The cities are separated and heroes fall

As the warriors battle for the gates

Each town sends out an urgent call

And through it all we wait our fates."

Kortny angrily sings in a baritone voice:

"A message from the enemy arrives

A demand of just one bard's life

     To stop the wounded cries

And put an end to this dreaded strife"

Kortny quietly sings in a baritone voice:

"The answer is no and the bardess hides

The chalice and lute are guarded closely

To try to stop death's swift ride

As the attackers ranks swell hopelessly"

Kortny hopelessly sings in a baritone voice:

    "Warrior, Priest, Bard, and Empath

     All fall to evil's sword

The cities are lost to the enemies' wrath

And at the gates the enemy now wards"

Kortny regretfully sings in a baritone voice:

"Gentle bard is taken at last

Guardians of the lute are taken one by one

All defenders fall to arrow, sword, and axe

Many claim that the Gorbesh have won"

Kortny sings in a baritone voice:

"A standard rises and warriors rally

The wounded heal and an army forms

These stalwart warriors challenge the tally

This army girds themselves all weary and torn"

Kortny emphatically sings in a baritone voice:

"The paladins lead and the warriors follow

The towns are reclaimed one at a time

But victory brings a harsh sorrow

As violence is repaid in kind."

Kortny hesitantly sings in a baritone voice:

    "As the world does recover

And the foolish belive it has ended

     The wise discover

That our last hope might have been left unattended."

Kortny slowly sings in a baritone voice:

    "A memory of three notes

     Bring the bards together

     They share a faint hope

But they find just a wrens feather."

Kortny sings in a baritone voice:

"A voice to guide gives the way

As one of each is gathered togather

They all join to sing and pray

And three step forward with a wren's feather"

Kortny sings in a baritone voice:

    "Their faith brings its reward

And Wren is saved from death

But only her life will the god's ward

But they give no guarantee for our last breath."

Kortny bows.

Kortny smiles sadly.

Kortny says, "Trying but defining times for us all."

[back to Set List]

Kortny says, "Well as the years go on, I start to feel them more and more."

Kortny smiles.

Kortny winks.

Kortny says, "Which caused me to write this next little song, which this is its first public performance."

Kortny says, ""Life's Journey" by Kortny Horselord"

Kortny sings in a baritone voice:

    "Years tumble so quickly by,

     That I sometimes wonder why.

Why the child of my memories,

In the mirror an adult does see?"

Kortny sings in a baritone voice:

"Movements that used to be so smooth,

Now leave me with aches to sooth.

The hours of each new day,

Seem to take wing and fly away."

Kortny sings in a baritone voice:

"But there are joys in times gone past,

For some memories will always last.

Friends and familey grow more dear,

As the time for our final journey does draw near."

Kortny sings in a baritone voice:

"And if history I could indeed change,

Very few things would I rearrange.

So I must say I am content,

And thankful for the blessings sent."

Kortny bows.

Kortny smiles.

[back to Set List]

Kortny says, "Well that concludes my singing, but I had a request for a story."

Kortny says, "The one that I have chosen is one that I wrote a long time ago."

Kortny says, "I spent some time looking into one of the mysteries of this realm, and this is the story I found."

Kortny says, "This is the story of Anlorahlhe by Kortny Horselords."

Kortny recites:

"When the armies of the World Dragon Priests

Had retreated to the area of the Black Hand

The Elotheans and Elves of the shattered city of Shard

Banded together to rebuild Shard and the province of Ilith."

Kortny recites:

"It was during this time that Alec

Built a symbol of that new peace with the Elves

That symbol being the gondola that served to connect

The elves with their Leth kin."

Kortny recites:
